WHY SHOULD I ATTEND?:  Here is your opportunity to leap ahead in knowledge and skill about directed Play Therapy techniques and when to use them  Would you like more confidence about how art enhances Play Therapy?  Then you will enjoy this fun and fast-paced workshop. Using power point, case examples and hands-on activities, your presenters will focus on Play Therapy techniques for adopted and foster children, older children, adolescences and adults. You will take home practical skills you can use in your every-day practice.

Following the workshop the participants will be able to:

1. Differentiate between directed and non-directed play therapy techniques and make a clinical decision on when to use each method.

2. Understand documentation and confidentiality when using art in Play Therapy.

3. Learn at least 10 directed play therapy techniques for treating trauma.

4.  Learn how directed techniques can help you meet the Play Therapy goals that you have set with your client or family.


      About your presenters:

Linda Klein has been in private practice at A Children’s Counseling Center for 19 years and is a Registered Play Therapist/Supervisor.  Linda provides treatment to families with attachment and trauma issues, has extensive training in attachment work and provides training in Play Therapy.   Linda is the President Elect for the Colorado Association for Play Therapy.


Linda Simmons is a Marriage and Family Therapist who has been in private practice for the last 18 years. She has most recently been working with the “Child and Family Solutions” group practice in Fort Collins, CO.  She works with children, teens and families on trauma based issues.  She is published and has presented in the area of child assessment and Play Therapy.  Linda is a Past President of CAPT and served on the board for 11 years.
